ARAT KILO is heading towards a new goal today: to welcome two singers with their own personalities and influences into its fold. Thus, joining the group are Malian diva Mamani Keita and Boston-born slam poet and rapper who now resides in Paris and collaborates on all types of artistic projects, Mike Ladd.
The challenge with this new album, "Visions of Selam," is to bring together the universe of Arat Kilo's ethiojazz with that of these two artists and create a new continent: between the worlds of Ethiopian music, Malian melodies, and American hip hop.
